Very interesting topic.
Mid to late 60's and 70's vinyl records re-issue on CD format under in late 80's were never convincing but for the convenience of CD player. Re-Mastered with 20/24 bit save CD format and then you have many who jumped this bandwagon but only three or Four leading Music producers ever perfected the art with the limitation of Redbook rules of CD. But never achieved the emotional content of new Vinyl release of the 21st Century albeit on digital lathe.

We have drifted away from the topic. Are there any more tips on how to digitise vinyl records please?

Jon, best advice I can give has all be said above, to start with clean vinyl source and go for a system such as Accession => ADC (Focusrite or other) => VinylStudio on pc. I record (rip) to FLAC files and store onto a NAS.  It works well and gives good results. Post processing the recording with the likes of Clickrepair can improve things but I haven't gone down that route, preferring to keep record of what I have.  There are more 'clean up' software available, some costing £ks maybe new software using AI technology if the aim is to make perfect recordings.
I have ripped probably 600ish vinyl and CDs, which I play alongside streaming on an Innuos Zen mini device. I would certainly be more selective if I were to start again but I enjoyed the experience and now have a choice of source which I can retain.  I guess I could get rid of originals but, for me, there are too many memories attached to much of the physical media.
I wish you luck!

If the record is noisy and appears to be in poor condition after cleaning find another copy of said record before digitization if possible. Garbage in = garbage out.

Be aware that not all records are cut at the same level. Monitoring and testing input levels for each record is unfortunately kind of a required thing if you want a good result.

Listen to results before doing a bunch of records in a row. You may find that you messed something up and need to correct it before doing the next record or doing the first one over again.

Be aware that some versions of Windows will default all USB input recording to mono even if the settings in Audacity or another program say something different. You will have to go into Windows settings to fix this. The Audacity FAQ has some information about this, as does Vinyl Studio, IIRC.

Good morning, in recent days I have done some experiments regarding recording vinyl on the PC. In short, in the end I didn't spend anything, I certainly don't expect the quality to be excellent but it's certainly better than recording with a cell phone.
Basically I connected the variable output of the Accession to the LINE IN input of the PC and after downloading MOVAVI in the free format I started recording using a USB video camera.
But what can I tell you, for what I spent to have this experience it doesn't suck for me.
Try listening with headphones.

That's a very good start, definitely better than a cell phone. Audacity may help as an audio recorder straight onto the PC's hard drive.
