Apologies for my ignorance here, reading lots and learning quickly though re pre amps. I'll probably have to brush-up on physics 101 though to get back into the swing of things...

Assuming an EXP / MM pre amp setup is acquired, is there a requirement for the PSU for each component or does the EXP PSU 'clean-up' any power issues prior to sending the signal through to a non-PSU MM pre (probably a Reflex M)?

Appreciate your patience and learned responses.

Carl

Welcome Carl. From my experience one PSU1 can power an Elevator EXP (made in the last 3 years) and a Reflex M if wired up correctly. The power connections are in parallel so the each unit gets its supply directly from the PSU1.

Thats good to hear and means I can invest in decent interconnect cables.

Does 'wiring up correctly' require the skills of a technician or is there a bi-connecting power cable, or similar?

And then I found this post which addresses exactly what I had queried: http://audio-forum.gspaudio.co.uk/one-psu-two-units_topic1886_page4.html

Does GSP or can GSP provide a Y cable to power two devices, i.e. EXP and Reflex M? If not, what would be the recommended way to acquire one?? Note, I intend on using the GSP interconnects (CuSats) to address the ground issues.

Im based in Sydney, Australia (currently watching our lads beat up on the English cricket team again in the second one day match 4 for 81 - and its bloody hot over here right now!).

Not a pretty sight to see old England crumble is it? I guess it must be written in the stars. I've noticed a few thoughts appearing on that subject online, but none as good as this...

"As they stared blankly. in dumb misery deepening as they slowly realised all they had seen and all they had lost, a capricious little breeze, dancing up from the surface of the water, tossed the aspens, shook the dewy roses and blew lightly and caressingly in their faces; and with its soft touch came instant oblivion." (Wind In The Willows, Ch.7 Piper At The Gates of Dawn, Kenneth Grahame, 1908)

Regarding the cable, it is not yet a stock item although a word in John C's ear could result in you receiving something which would work - that's username John C, my production director (tel: +44 (0) 1909 568739)

Not an edifying sight for us pommies! As for the heat, Melbourne Zoo lions have big iced lollies to cool off - frozen blood. Nice! Ermm

In 1994 I was in Melbourne Zoo at Christmas and went onto the final test at Sydney. Holiday of a lifetime for a cricket fan.

I didn't enjoy England's performance in the Ashes. However I thought Australia's teamwork and resilience was impressive, and their bowling was outstanding. The accuracy and discipline of all their bowlers put pressure on the English batsmen that was telling. It's not the first 5-0 down under but all 100 English wickets fell.

Back on topic: I'm glad you found the "Y-lead" thread inspiring and pleased that Graham has offered John's services.
