It depends on the connected load impedance too. I use the Proprius dials between 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock; usually easier to set them up at 12 o'clock but I set them at 9-10 if listening to speaker drivers at close range to silence any low level hiss. With my old high impedance headphones, I had to go above 3 to hear any hiss but speaker cones have a far lower impedance so 9-10 then turn Majestic dial up is my preference.

I have always used my Proprius at full volume feeding my floorstanders through a Majestic. With my ear nest to the speaker there is a very quiet ' presence' but at more than a couple of feet this is inaudible to me.
I am fortunate enough to have an Era gold V/ Majestic/Proprius system with GSP interconnects. I have had the set up for 3 years now and I am very pleased with my little silver boxes. The sound is detailed but relaxed and to my ears very musical. Power from the Proprius is more than enough to exceed the capacity of my decent size room, my ears and my wife's tolerance. |
