I'm glad to hear my patent interpretation was correct! I wouldn't want to have offended you by infringing your legal rights. While my "Slee inspired" phono stage is a delight to me, I'm sure it still has a way to go to match the Accession.

In my early yoof, I used to design and build in the latter days of valves and the new fangled germanium transistors. Then University and earning a living distracted me. Earned a living by applying my skills to digging holes in the ground, then developing and applying machines for digging large holes through the ground. Detailed electronics design became other peoples problems, I just developed the concepts. Nowadays I find that although I have retained the basics, a lot of the detail design whilst interesting is not something I can "do" anymore. Physically building electronic devices still interests me, but I leave the electronics design to those who can. Much of my enjoyment these days comes from designing, building and flying large model aeroplanes, the camaraderie at the flying field is also a great pleasure.
So that's my take on the current level of interest in designing and building Electronics!

This made me smile but seems a little harsh on JW! And slightly off topic.

The works of Joseph Fidler Walsh have been amongst my favourite music, and get more plays in my workshop than many. I first heard his music on a pal's bedsit system using a Teleton SA206b amplifier. The album: "So What" (1975, in 1975). I have twelve of his albums including his time in The James Gang. All as FLACs plus early albums on vinyl too (and the Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over"). Every audio stage I've ever designed since 1975 has been auditioned playing his music (among others). I've never heard any of it live, but used to try and play Turn To Stone (badly) on an old acoustic - obviously without fuzz. My fret fingers were too slow, so I decided on a technical career instead. I think if tracks like "Midnight Man" reproduce nicely and the intense fuzz doesn't fracture your hammer, anvil, and stirrup, but you are able to hear the inflection in Mary Sterpka's voice, and her harmonies with Joe, then a design might be right.

We played the second James Gang LP last week. Great music and a good test of the op amps, I agree.
