Hi
I just want to say a word of praise for my newly built Genera kit phono amp. I am listening to it right now with an Audionote TT1/RB250/Denon DL160, into a humble NAD C326BEE and MS Aviano 1's and can't believe how good is sounds. Over the years (pre divorce 10 years ago!) I have owned a LP12 and a Gyrodeck with far more exotic cartridges and amplifiers. Post divorce I have turned to various aspects of DIY including kit valve amps. The Genera is simple to built, uses reasonably priced, basic components, and sounds great. The DL160 is a marriage married in heaven, although I have good results also from a Goldring 1042. It does have potential for using "boutique" components, but, apart from a power supply upgrade, I can't see why you would need to do so. Great job Graham and thanks! |
