Hello,

As I already stated in my intruduction post, I´m investigating into buying the Proprius power amps. Buying new equipement is a lengthy process for me, considering everything I need to factor in.
Concerning the Proprius, 2 questions spring to mind;

I do realise the advantage of being able to use a monoblock amplifier close to the speaker. But in my current living situation, this simply is a no go. Now, my speakers are fairly efficient at a quoted 91dB/W/m. Speaker cables used are Mogami W3103, each 3m in length. Would this adversely impact amplifier performance?

My DAC/preamp (M2tech Young mkIII) offers two output voltage settings: 5V and 10V. I guess by other manufacturers this is refererred to as gain setting. Which setting would be the most benificial with the Proprius?

I will let others comment in more detail.

However, I think the idea with the Proprius amps is that they can be mounted directly to the speakers ("monitor" style) or they can be put on an equipment shelf or rack like a traditional amp. I have seen some members' set ups where they were side by side on a rack, with the speaker cables going out just like a traditional stereo amplifier.

One of the benefits of the Proprius is it's small size, making it easy to install or hide close to speakers, thus allowing longer balanced cable connection from a preamp and short speaker leads. To my understanding the balanced cabling gives lower loss of signal, which is useful in pro situations requiring long cable lengths.  This is the ideal configuration but if not possible then I believe 3m speaker cables would still work satisfactorily.
I'm not able to comment on the output voltage selection from your pre/dac, 5vRMS or 10vRMS iutput just seems massive when the input sensitivity is 547mvRMS.  Others will  be able answer.

Late response. I have used my Proprius amps with 4 and 5 metre speaker cables and they were very good

I'm using a loaner pair of the amps at the moment and my speaker cables are 4 metres. Had no problems or issues, in fact I've a pair on order😁😁

I have used both combinations, and I was unable to hear a difference in the sound related to the position of the amplifiers. The only advantage I found was that you could use much better speaker cable for the same budget if the amps were next to the speakers.

I used 3M runs of speaker cable.
