Hi All, I recently signed up for this forum, which I discovered while researching Graham Slee’s phono preamps. I am contemplating an Accession MM for a somewhat unique application. I have one turntable (Clearaudio Concept with an Ortofon 2M black cartridge) which I want to serve as a vinyl front end for two systems: a big rig featuring Dali Helicon floorstanders powered by a Pass Labs amp and a 300B SET integrated amp powering small, highly efficient monitors TBD. My thought is I can wire the variable output from Accession to the Pass Labs amp and the fixed out to the 300B amp. If I want to listen to the big rig, I’ll keep 300B turned off. If I want to listen to the 300B, I will turn the volume pot all the way down (because the Pass Labs amp is always on). So will this work, or not? Will appreciate members thoughts on this. Meanwhile, I am enjoying browsing the forum topics and expect to be weighing in on some of them.
Cheers! Dick

Thank you for joining us here, Dick. I haven't tried going direct from my AccMC or AccMM phonos to amps or active speakers so would interested in how you get on.

With your Ortofon 2M black cartridge outputting 5.0mV, the Accession MM should produce about 0.595Vrms at full output, that should be able to drive with your amps well. |
