Great find! I am pleased to note we are not alone on this and Ged Carroll echoes my findings and I'm sure yours. We really ought to "bully" Sennheiser into bringing it back (if I only I could find their UK rep's email address I'd be on the case). |

I remember a member of Senn UK was very active on head-fi during the launching on the HD800... John Willett or similar name... Maybe he could help. Let me find out.

![]() And there is the legend to understand the different curves (just replace DT48 with HD250):
![]() The standard deviation for actual ear response below 100Hz is reaching 5dB (or 10dB with a dummy head !!)... Which means that 2 individuals can easily get up to 10dB deviations in that frequency range, which would be very noticeable. The DT48 is actually even worst in this regard.
What do scare me a bit is the strange narrow dip around 200Hz which would explain why people feel voice are a little recessed in those phones... But I am still very interested in getting my hands on a pair sometimes. Edited by shamu144 - 29 Jun 2011 at 8:45am |

Hi Graham,
There you go, John Willett (a Sennheiser official representative on head-fi) contact info is there: http://www.head-fi.org/user/john+willett
Edit: Well, I am not sure if John Willett is still a Sennheiser employee (his current signature says otherwise), but he knows pretty well the HD250, as he claims having been involved in the product development some 20 years ago: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/404891/sennheiser-hd-650-closed-edition-vs-real-closed-headphones#post_5347665

I listen with my ears shamu144, not with graphs etc.. So you can chuck as many of those as you wish in my direction, along with any technical gobbledygook, but they'll not make any difference to what I hear in the real world.
