Which shielding is better?

Goodday all,
 
I know this may sound crazy but as ICs have shields now which can be run independently, is it better to connect these shields to the chassis ground as oppose to the -ve ground? I know the norm is to connect to the -ve ground.

I'm not sure of this, but at least some1 gave it a reply. From what I gather, the shields are terminated to the plug, both ends is waht your lookiung for, and it would make sense tyo me, that the grounding would be to the chassis through the connectors ground.

 So just make sure both ends are grounded to the connector. Some I belive only ground to one connector, which is like pissing in the wind, IMHO. LOL

Single ended or unbalanced ICs should be terminated: shield to phono plug body, period.

The connection to chassis ground is via the equipment's internal circuit. Connecting the shield to chassis instead will invariably lead to equipment malfunction or damage.

It is true that many phono socket body contacts are immediately connected to chassis inside the equipment, but some are not, and even bypassing a short PCB trace or internal wire can degrade noise or dynamic performance.
That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps
