i am using neither of the psu's you mention.
i bought one of these from rs
 
i would love to compare it to the psu1, though.
if there was a noticable improvement, then i would buy one.

Hi Graham
if the hiss bothers me i will just use my imp' adapter.
but i would just like to note that the hiss is there on zero volume, with nothing playing.
and only seems to increase in the last 3rd up to max volume!
is this normal?
 
i do have the case grounded to my pc case. and when i tested the continuity, as in the installation instructions, the reading was 0.4 ohms. (my meter leads alone read 0.1)
 
please be aware this is an observation, not a complaintBig%20smile

Simon, I am pulling straws but ... do you have a ferrite core you could attach to the power lead?
