How about Franck Pourcel, while we're in this particular musical area? And Ronnie Aldrich and His Two Pianos.
Both staples of the Columbia Studio 2 catalogue and their ping-pong stereo. Occasionally I enjoy a little perverse dabble in such gems, admiring the musicianship and mis-directed engineering expertise while at the same time failing to stop my foot from tapping along. It's amazing what the Reflex gets you doing . . .  Edit: correction, Ronnie Aldrich was a Decca Phase 4 artist, to be really pedantic.
