Hi Andy,Yes it was a tongue in cheek remark,Funeral for a friend is one of my favourite tracks as are one or two of the other tracks on Yellow Brick Road but my wife is a fanatic and even good things wear thin.
Regards
Phil

Elton's early records up until GBYBR are almost all of them great! Sure it's mainstream pop but it's the good kind and they're all beautifully produced with a warm rich valvey sound. The early albums have a nice down to earth countryish tone very far from the lavish later stuff which I'm personally not at all into.
James Last on the other hand I've never understood the market for at all, save perhaps for the hilariously lousy covers (in double meaning).

Also, a knight who dresses up like Donald Duck must be admired on some level.

I have just looked into the forum for the first time for a while & seen this (overseas with work but back in the UK next week & collecting my Bitzie order Smile) - I knew someone who had success putting single warped records between sheets of heavy glass on his conservatory floor for a week or so and leaving until cool in a morning. It's the wrong season now of course and I have no idea how hot or how long. He flattened one for me but we lost touch when he moved away a few years ago

By the way Tumbleweed and Madman are both great albums with several others of the early ones not far behind
Older than I once was, younger than I'll be

Perhaps using two sheets of glass like that and applying just the slightest bit of heat from underneath using an electric blanket instead might work just as well?

Have come across the twin glass slab idea but am very reluctant to try. When I say my wife is a diehard fan I mean it.The chances of getting new copies of this album again are seriously limited and I'm sure the wife would dismember me if I damaged them.I know you can buy a very expensive fully automatic heat and pressure device to do this and I wondered if anybody knew of a shop or collector with one.
Perhaps I'm just a coward and want somebody else to blame when it goes wrong.

You could put a rubbish record (James Last?) on the radiator and warp it some then try it first?
