This is a very technical question, but I wonder if anybody knows if a cheap and simple Toslink to coax converter degrades the sound quality.

I am asking because there is a product on the market called Bluesound, which is a music streamer, and it only has Toslink digital output and my DAC has only Coax input. This product has suddenly become interesting because it also stream music from services like Spotify and Wimp. The later recently started to stream uncompressed FLAC format.

I have never listend to a BBluesound device, but I have a SONOS. The sound from a SONOS is not very good, even if just streaming to an external DAC. I guess it has to do with severe jitter problems. Anybody who knows anything about the sound of these Bluesound devices?

Hey! How many will want that? I have just the right circuit!

It may take me a bit longer to make such a thing though.

But it's very low jitter, and does 24/96!
That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

Well, I would be interested.

I just read Wimp is not available in England. Outside the Scandinavian countries, it is only available in Germany and Poland.
