From my experience I can say that after 16 days the Solo has perfectly stabilized: in the past 3-4 days I have noticed no further changes at all (at least not that my ears can notice).

Bass is simply perfect now: I am listening to electronica/dance right now, and it has a very nice impact!

Graham - sometimes the anticipation of something great enhances its greatness.  In the cause of the Solo; I'm smitten.

Just listened to 'Dark side of the moon'.  Something I have done every now and again since my teenage (I'm a couple of years younger than you Graham)

It is an old friend, but surprised me today through the Solo.  Suddenly as 'eclipse'  washed across me - there was a guitar riff that I have NEVER heard before. Shocked  It only came once, despite a repeating pattern.

For me that is one of the joys of upgrading, refreshing things that have become well known to you.  Another is bringing new music to your attention. Since upgrading my main speaker system I have been able to hear individual strings on guitar.  Tends to move you in a new direction.

Such experiences don't change your 'likes' as such they simply expand them, bringing new enjoyment.

After all, whilst we may talk equipment, what we really like is the music it enables us to enjoy - isn't it   ?  Ying%20Yang
...... and that's my opinion, take or leave it

Mmmm... haven't been listening to TDSOTM for a long while... My third favorite PF album (after "Piper at the gates of dawn" - yes, I prefer Barrett!!!!- and "The Wall"; sadly I don't much care for all their other albums, and that includes "Animals" so you are welcome to bash at me!).

Actually this post just reminded me to order the SACD remastered release from Amazon: can't wait to receive it and have a listen to it!).

I love the title track of "Wish you were here", but the rest sounds a bit aimless to me...
