Just goes to show how little the EU cares about small British businesses, to be honest.
Also remember that if you use an unofficial power supply with your Graham Slee product and the product fails as a result, your warranty will almost certainly be voided. Edited by Ash - 26 Jun 2016 at 9:07am |

The advert has changed from when I first saw this a month ago. It does not say it is a Graham slee product but as effectively a 'superior' product from their claim.
I agree with some of the points made over the apparent one model fits all and that if it fails and destroys your GSP box you are out on your own. Also without confirmation there is little tangible evidence over quality or reliability or safety which we all value. You will also see they sell aftermarket devices for other manufacturers such as quad and naim. You are likely to be aware of the many upgrades to motors and similar for the LP12 this is the tweakers corner we live in isn't it? Is the PSU 1 the best supply for the accession as ash says? Without auditioning one I don't suppose any of us can say accepting the comments over potential safety or reliability issues. If there was fully tested and safe PSU from Graham or anyone else I would be interested; the brand loyalty would prefer from Graham of course. OL who have featured I the forum over recent specialise in providing motors for other turntables; a problem to other manufacturers seen as fraudulent? Have never seen anything though aware Arthur from F**k f**m once tried to warn me off from their platter mat alleging copywrite issues. I think there are a number of perfectly valid concern over the aforementioned supply - another is they do not allow loan or sale and return which I would have expected from a non mechanical device such as this. This alone would prevent getting anywhere near my wish list! |

Well, on the official product page, Graham says something along the lines of 'comes with the PSU1 (our best) power supply' so I was assuming the manufacturer of the product would know best, seeing as he knows it and designed it in thorough detail. Maybe I'm being naive? Sorry, what ruffled my feathers is the use of Graham's name in this product's title, as though he is somehow affiliated with it or endorses it (misleading IMO). If it was titled as a generic linear power supply but in the description were described as being suitable for use with 24V Graham Slee products and clearly marked as unofficial, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I think that's exactly the point I was trying to make when I started the post. It should clearly say 'F******y Audio PSU' and not Graham Slee Accession etc.
I think it's also a bit of a cheek showing a photo which is 'for illustration'. In other words, what you buy may not actually look like that! On 'demagnetising' gadgets,is there not a company called F***tech producing a device that claims to work on cd and vinyl? Has even had favourable reviews in the hi fi press! As an aside, being fairly new to this forum, why do we put *** when naming other companies? |

It's simply that as this forum is run & maintained by GSP it's considered bad form to promote rival products - in fact it's against the T&C we all agree to when logging in. However it's not so draconian that no one is allowed to use and like other gear ... but just don't go on about it here is the general rule. Likewise the deliberate blanking of other makes, maintains a degree of civility towards their product too, so that we don't seem to be openly trash talkin about them. All seems fair enough to me. Areas where GSP have no comparable product, turntables, carts, speakers etc are a free for all, but we like to keep it nice n friendly
