While awaiting delivery of the Proprius amps I've ordered  I've been pondering about speaker cabling options. I could either go with short (1m TRS jack-XLR plug) Libran from Majestic to Proprius and 3m speaker cables (existing Chord or replacement Spatia) or mount the Proprius on the speaker stands and have longer 3m Librans and v short speaker cables. Would there be appreciable difference in sound between the two options or is it down to ease of cabling? Mounting the Proprius on the steel speaker stands does offer an advantage of simpler routing for power cables  in the room. There's a bit of a cost difference between long Librans and Spatia but I'd prefer to do it once and do it right before sitting back and enjoying.
I'll talk it over with John  C when I pick up the amps but would appreciate feedback from others experience.

My personal preference is for short speaker cables and longer interconnects between Majestic and Proprius. My amps are however 9 and 12m from the Majestic, a distance I consider to be quite long for speaker cables. I did try long speaker cables, but the sound, particularly Bass is bettter with the short speaker cables.
As I say just my preference for my setup. if you can try both options (loan scheme?) to find your preference.

Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

I use the same approach as Ian and agree with his comments about finding what sounds best in your system. My Majestic DAC/preamp is in my hifi rack and I use long balanced cables to go across the room to a Proprius amp behind each speaker so the speaker cables are less than a metre long.

Hi Ian, Jon,
Thanks for your comments.  Agree the best way will be to have a word with John C and try long Libran leads once the Proprius have settled in.  Any difference will then be more apparent.
