As the subject line suggests, which is it?

I was thinking of either a long set of Lautus 1/4" Jack to XLR from MAj DAC to Proprius amps clamped to the back of speakers or short as possible interconnects and long set of Spatia speaker cables.

Does it make any difference?

Sorry if this subject has been covered before, i've gone back a ways to see if it comes up, closest i got was interconnect lengths.

Cheers

Hi Francis,
As you say it has been covered before, as I asked pretty much the same question.
The consensus seems to be long interconnects and short speaker cables. The Proprius was designed with mounting to the speaker in mind. I use balanced interconnects from the Majestic to my amps which are mounted on the speakers, which avoids 5m long speaker cables. I think it gives the amps slightly better control over the speakers.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

The interconnects on my system will have to be about 5-6mtrs, i quite like the idea of clamping a Proprius to the back of each speaker and having a very small length of speaker cable doing the connect.

I'm sure JohnC could do you a pair of very short Spatia cables to go with your jack to XLR Lautus cable. Maybe go the whole hog and get some Spatia links for your speakers if they're bi-wireable . . .Wink
