Has anyone had their hands on these and have an opinion? It is starting to itch again on this side, but seriously question the value of spending £1k...?

I tried them at last years Bristol Hi Fi Show (sound and vision).

I liked them but the money I had saved for them went on a pair of JH13s.
To me, there was nothing better at presenting an orchestral performance.  They didn't slam enough for my other music tastes though.
No looking back.

Beware, this is a slippery slope.

I tried the HD800 out of various amps and it sounded best out of a Luxman P1 (no Solo/Novo available at the time). The HD800 are very amp/source dependent and w/ the Luxman they sounded fantastic, with other amps it sound ok.

Not tried them with any of Graham's amps yet (other than the Voyager), but they sound great with the Grace m902b (but that's pushing £2,000 for the amp. in the UK).

I have had mine for over two years now (the first pair sold in the UK).

I know Graham has a pair of HD 800 and that Sennheiser UK also have (or had) one of Graham's amps to demo them with.

Yes, they do seem to be amp. dependent - no doubt Graham will say which of his work best with them.
