What are your thoughts on the Sennheiser HD600?
Just feeling a little inquisitive, hence asking. S.

Hi Shane
I have the HD600s 2019s Just saying as there may be old stock of the old ones if you are thinking buying them. I find them vary good, With a lot of detail, good mid range but a bit light on the bass. 2019s What to look out for. Black head band with Sennheiser on the left hand side and they have thicker cables than the old ones too. Hope that helps

HD600 is quite good. Upper bass is punchy (elevated), notable with drums. This alters tonality and dynamics a bit. Buy second-hand excellent condition for a lower price, just in case you find they aren't for you.

The 600's have been claimed to have neutral midrange/tone. Do you agree with such claim? S.

The HD600 is a classic for a reason. It’s made a lot of people very happy for decades now. It’s not perfect, and I agree with Ash about the upper bass being punchy. It was my first high quality headphone and was a revelation. I also agree with secondhand. The secondhand market on headphones is massive and you’ll be able to find something excellent.
All the bets, Mick.

The midrange is the highlight of the headphone really. Apart from the elevated upper bass, the sound is quite neutral. I bought and sold the HD600 in 2012 though so I am going on memory rather than fresh testing. I would not select them for music production. Have a look at that K240 Studio from AKG. It looks quite promising. I may even try them in the future. Around £56?

Do you find that the elevated upper bass ruins your listening pleasure? But as always, each to their own. I think those K240's are still priced at £52. S.
