Nice tracks, thank you! The first one sounds like an Eastern-tinged version of Massive Attack, and the Alita soundtrack is VERY reminiscent of the excellent compositions by Harry Gregson Williams for the Metal Gear Solid 2 videogame: Edited by Lucabeer - 28 Apr 2023 at 7:19pm |

An aside, I enjoyed Alita Battle Angel.

I love MGS2; it's one of my childhood games, alongside the first and third games. I have the CD soundtracks for 1+2 but need to obtain the OST for 3.
I really enjoyed Alita: Battle Angel; eagerly waiting for a sequel. Got the soundtrack album but sadly it's not the Japanese release with the extra tracks.

I have the CD soundtracks for MGS1 and 2 too! And yes, 3 has that great Bond-esque title song, so I should look for it too.

Snake Eater yeah. I was meaning to buy it a few years ago but because there is more than one catalogue number or album issue and because the import charges are so much, I never got around to it. I will seek it out.

I have to reconsider my opinion of the much higher sensitivity of the 7200. It's not that MUCH more sensitive than the 7000: several tests say there's only less than a 3 dB/mW increase, which is not enough to explain the big difference on the volume pot on my Solo ULDE. After two days I have understood: the simple matter is that with the 7200 I feel less of a need to crank up the volume. With the 7000, sound really blossomed at really high listening levels. With the 7200, sound and soundstage are balanced and satisfying even at lower SPLs. Which is, in my view, another sign of the superior quality of the 7200. This should finally make Graham a bit less puzzled about my craving for higher gain on the Solo (https://www.hifisystemcomponents.com/forum/upgraded-to-ultra-linear_topic4675_page1.html), because now I am comfortably listening with the volume pot between 10 and 2 o' clock (respectively for CD and vinyl cut "low"), and never higher than that!

Almost one week... And how have the 7200s opened up!
The last remaining vestiges of veil on vocals has lifted, and now they sound open, more airy and linear. Bass slam has remained, and vocals still are drier and less honey coloured than on the 7000, but detail has been constantly increasing and the tone is more natural/neutral, less recessed. Definitely a more technical, precise headphone than the 7000: I am discovering weird mixing errors and background noises in some recordings, that I had never noticed. Overall, a very smooth AND detailed rendition. Perfect balance for me, different from the romantic one of the 7000 but just as intriguing.
