Hello,Is there any advantage to plugging my psu1 into a mains conditioner?
Or does the psu1 perform at its best regardless of the power that's fed to it?
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question

Not a stupid question to me... maybe it depends on how clean your mains supply is...?

It's something I've considered for my whole system but the cost and other thoughts have prevented me seriously investigating the option. The sound coming from my system seems to vary from day to day, week to week, not necessarily at particular times of the day. Often it sounds amazing but occasionally it sounds pretty average (i.e. not so clear, less than impressive bass etc). I know my hearing varies occasionally (I have to use a nasal spray), but I've had similar effects with different amps etc, so I'm wondering whether the wiring in the house (an old cottage) is ready for an overhaul. I'm due to move into a newer property soon so I'm hoping that might clarify some things.

Maybe Graham can advise...

If it helps horsh, I prefer mine connected through a mains conditioner.

My main conditioner is also a surge protector and thus why I use it. Ideally there are regenerators which work quite well, I have one that I use on my big DAC and CD player and IMO the sound is smoother.

I was wondering that also.
I live in an apartment, so I figured my power wouldn't be clean.
I bought a Monster Power PRO 1000, and it I can hear and see a difference.
Before I had it connected when I opened up Soundforge the volume meter would bounce around, then when I connected it, the meter is staying flat, almost as if there was no sound coming into my system.
I am going to connect the psu1 to the power stage.
