Can anyone advise if you have a graham Slee phono amp and a headphone (and hopefully some time in the future a graham Slee main amp!), is it best practice to stack these directly on top of each other, on top of each other with a shelf in between, or side by side with 'x' gap in between?
I realize what space you have plays a part, but in the ideal scenario, or does it really not matter and it is a dumb question?
And finally, should the turntable be on the same shelf or separate, or who care?
Thank you in advance for the sages who answer.

I place my Elevator, Reflex M and Solo UL side by side on a granite chopping board atop the rack which houses the rest of the electronics!
The granite seems to work in isolating, particularly the Elevator, from the stuff below. I had hum/buzz problems initially. Cured with Graham's and tg's help.
My turntable(s) is nicely isolated on a dedicated shelf fixed firmly to a solid wall above the equipment rack/housing far enough away not to be affected by anything but not too high to make operation difficult and within easy reach of connecting cables, particularly mains.
I'm more than happy with the arrangement and it's results.

I have my Solo UL & other pieces of equipment on Base Platforms. I was a sceptic re isolation until my local hifi centre lent me some equipment to try including the Base. Some worked others didn't (IMO). The Base though worked quite well, particularly for the Cd player. They were expensive though back in 98 when I bought them, about £100 per base, don't what they are now. In honesty, I just put my solo on the base & have not compared on the base & off it. If you can pick up the old mission isoplat, this cost £30 at the time & were very good, you might pick one up on eBay? I, despite my original sceptism, advocate use of isolation for all equipment.

Oldagetraveller and James, thanks for your thoughts. All advice is appreciated, I have much to learn, and I would prefer not to reinvent the wheel. Always best (& cheapest in the long run, though higher initial outlay normally) to try and get it right first time.

If it helps I have tried small marble cutting boards on spikes and on sorbothane pads. I preferred the latter. A small wooden wall shelf was good as well.

Out of interest, does what you mount the turntable on need to not add any additional resonce? I am most probably out of my depth here, but I thought the turntable base ( not sure of the technical name) was chosen for the property of the materials not to introduce resonce, or resonance the human ear hears. Which is why so many today are made of MDF. And the fact that any resonce it has is very u inform. Whereas good old fashioned wood is all over the place due to the varying grain structure and materials like stainless steel and granite also resonate at the wrong frequency.
Any thoughts/ advice? Again I appreciate go with what you like the sound of, but it is always worth trying to reduce the number of options to consider. :-)

Jon, when referring to the small marble cutting boards is that for your phono and headphone amp or your turntable or both? Thanks
