Total on time (idling/playback) in terms of hours since purchase is probably no longer than 14 days. Anyone interested?

£1050 GBP, which includes special delivery UK postage. Payment by Paypal "gift" payment so I receive the gross payment or if you prefer posted cheque, that's also fine. Rapid dispatch, no problems or excuses from me.

I better postpone this sale for now. Not sure if Solo provides enough current for my highest listening volume so might have to stick with Proprius.

Darn, I thought I was going to get away with cost cutting. Ouch My fully opened K1000 seems to need a lot of current. Solo from Majestic is pretty much there but I want to hear that there is MORE than enough current for loudest listening. Solo probably has the volts but not the amps...

Need to compare side-by-side today.

That's the wisest idea Ash. Streamlining your system is one thing but why risk getting 95% out of the K1000s just for the sake of it? GSP headphone amps are second-to-none with headphones IMO, but K1000s are legendary for needing more power than headphone amps can put out. You've already got them, keep them and sell the Solo.

I have it all set up now and currently listening to both combos. Because of no dangerous offset DC from either amplifiers, I can "hot plug" them during playback to listen for any differences. I will need to leave it all powered on for a while yet. I notice that my Maj-Solo combo tilts into distortion when both pots are positioned past their 3 o'clock positions but before this point, I can't really hear much difference between them at the moment. The Maj-Proprius doesn't seem to reach a "limit" of strain or whatever you want to call it.

I'll photograph it in a little bit so you can have a look.

Solo used is a UL, not an ULDE. CuSat50 0.6m interconnect pair.

Now the ULDE rendition seems slightly purer than the Proprius rendition but I'll have to see how things develop...

Sod it, made a video instead. Ended up with two videos as I accidentally stopped the first during filming. Uploading them now. Nothing special but you might enjoy them. Give them a little while to be uploaded first. Time for me to be "vocal" again. Wink

Solo is a little leaner on the bass (which is good) than the Proprius so I guess the Solo is a better choice for driving this load. Solo does go loud enough and the distortion is probably because this combo is more sensitive to the "crap in, crap out" principle; it's picking up more of the low-fi reproduction from youtube. But my listening volume is pretty much achieved before this distortion point. So I might just get my cost-cutting wish, after all...
