Looking for the best way to access the music in my iTunes library on my MacBook, was thinking of buying an Apple airport express and then connecting that to my Copland amp.

A bit of an expensive way but if the Mac book pro has the optical headphone jack (because some did/do) the Majestic will convert to analogue out and has enough output voltage for virtually any amp. It's a lot of money though, but customers tell me their iTunes sound great using the Majestic.

Otherwise I can't help you immediately, but if I can persist in finding out from you if your Mac book pro has the optical headphone jack, it will help me in the design of another item. I have been asked numerous times for a 'super Voyager' that has optical, coax, USB, and analogue in, with a stereo balance control and headphone/line out. Thanks.

Thanks Graham,
As usual Apple make thing difficult, I have 2015 MacBook Pro which I think has the optical headphone jack.
If money was no object then I would go for the Majestic.

The link below may assist

Robin, you could use a Graham Slee Bitzie DAC/headphone amp, lower cost than the Majestic but pretty close in sound quality. I regularly connect my Macbook Pro to this, using the supplied Lautus USB cable.

It comes with a headphone to twin RCA adaptor & this will link into your amp via interconnects. Everything you play from the Macbook will then be processed by the Bitzie onboard DAC - iTunes, Youtube, any media player, BBC Player etc etc.
Older than I once was, younger than I'll be

Thanks Andrew, that's a bit more affordable and looks like a good solution

Hi All,
I currently use a MacBook Air into the Majestic. Not having the optical out, I use USB. However, I use an m2Tech USB to coax converter connected to a Lautus cable into the coax input of the Majestic. Stonkingly good!
Mick.

Thanks for pointing out the Bitzie Andrew and I apologise for omitting it. Although the Bitzie will do exactly what Robin requires, it has been sidelined by many for being 48k. Why 48k is unsuitable for iTunes and CD quality I will never know. I understand that those with true 96k collections want 96k reproduction but many 96k's are upsampled and upsampled bits contain zeros which means it's still 48k (or 44.1 or lower). I personally use my Bitzie full time as interface between my PC and my Majestic, and also for desk-top headphone use, and I know I'm getting the best, but being its designer and the fact that I'm selling it I'm obviously biased.
