This sounds like a really good approach. Donating or sponsoring you to develop circuit designs for DIY appeals to me. At a pace that suits you, of course Graham...

Yes good idea if meets with the ' Man'' - Sponsor to !!!!! or Whom is very enticing Idea ...and Will fully support ...but No obligation to the ' Retiree'' visiting and enjoying peace and quiet and serenity of Yorkshire.
On a second Note, I tried for many years to bracket support Loudspeakers from walls and Support bracket can cost an arm and leg sometimes and I tried a novel idea from a British Firm, suspension from Ceiling and Pine and ikea shelves to no avail ..... I swapped for a BW 620 in 198's...because Focal 836 in 2010 ...slim floor standers and happy but supporting a decent Bookshelf is an art and a science in itself.

Yes, some crowdfunding without pressure would be great! Like a "part-time hobby", not as an obligation.

I've only just come across this thread!
![]() Graham - you deserve a well-earned retirement and it's great to know that John (and Leo) will be carrying on HFSC. For the past twenty years or so the little silver boxes (plus a black Accession MC) have been multiplying in my house, performing impeccably - and it seems it little lame just to say "thank you". To have a manufacturer/designer communicate so freely with their customers on this forum was a breath of fresh air, and the lack of BS here at a time when the industry was sinking ever further into marketing and PR platitudes and misinformation was heartening. To say it must have been an uphill struggle to stay true to principles is undoubtedly an understatement, but the bottom line has always been products that exceed expectations and allow the music to be the star of the show. So well done and thank you, Graham! And thank you John for taking up the reins and good luck for the future!

I've been away from the forum for a while and just heard the news of Graham's retirement.
If there's a UK designer and engineer that's made a greater contribution to amplifier design since amplifiers in the modern era were invented, I don't know of them. I've posted on here before about how the quality of my life has been improved thanks to the musical enjoyment I've experienced from using Graham Slee devices, and I reiterate that now. Enjoy the break Graham, and know that your legacy is assured in the continuing happiness of so many thousands of music lovers around the world. |
