Don't be Ifor, that's next on my list too.  Bloody kitchen!

Jon, I'm going to be wetting myself with excitement on the day i see those boxes as i'm making the trip up to John's when all the gear is ready to ship.

I'm not leaving all my precious to Royal Mail or some feckless fool of a courier driver who doesn't know his posterior from his elbow.  These people don't care which way or how said boxes should be handled and stacked, and doesn't know how to heat up a tin of beans never mind arranging boxes, understanding English or driving a van, of any sort.

Not over my smelly old dead and rotting rattly heap of a corpse!

Besides, it's a nice day out.

Cheers Jon, i do try my best Wink

Another change on the speaker and CD player front.  I know, i'll make up my mind eventually.

Just purchased some used Harbeth Super HL5's that come with Something Solid custom made stands.
Ok so they are a bit bigger than the Compact 7's and mabye the 7's fit better but after much negotiation and agreeing to pick them up you can't ignore a deal at £1700, and they are immaculate.

Also, hoping to do a deal quickly on a Cyrus CD XT SE2 CD transport, and i've just bought the PSX-R PSU to run it.

Here we go!

If you got these from BH22 in Dorset you just saved my bank balance!LOL From the photos on the other site they look superb - and I can only imagine the performance when driven by the Proprii . . Wink.

You have such a lot to look forward too! Well done!

Spot on Bob.

When i saw the listing quite by mistake and noted the price my first thoughts were: Used but immaculate SHL5 and nice quality stands for £1700, or brand new Compact 7's for £2309 plus stands at £300.

I like having new gear but therre's nothing wrong with used.  My HD 800's were used, and apart from a couple of marks they look pretty good and sound bloody amazing, ready run in.

No brainer really.

I imagine any of the Harbeth speaker range would be welcome in any GSP forum members house. I don't think you can go wrong with them, specially with used gear at this level and price.  I figure if you're going to do it just the once and the opportunity presents itself, and financially it's doable, then you've just go to go for it.

I can't wait to get them hooked up, i bet they will sound fabulous.  The temporary downside is they won't be making music until GSP's Black Magic boxes turn up.  Torture!  They will at least have been run in so i can benefit immediately form those golden waves of magical musical mayhem.

The chap that has them is a retired copper and he's off to China for a while to work so he's got to sell. He came across as a really nice guy, loves his audio, and sounded genuinely sad to sell it all as i would be in his shoes.  I assured him the SHL5's are going to a good home that will genuinely love them as much as he does.

My breath is well and truly baited!

Out of interest how would you describe the Harbeth sound? - do they all have a similar presentation? I haven't yet heard a pair but they are generally very well respected designs.
Thanks.
