My audacity is probably starting to become apparent... LOL Embarrassed But as Graham himself has already stated, the customer should not just be "a secondary consideration" with regard to entrepreneural sales and "we must always tell the truth" because customer trust and confidence is easily lost whilst difficult to acquire. It'll be a good learning exercise for me as well. I might make some people very happy with my sales and gain some money at the same time, which'll go towards my next subsequent Graham Slee purchase... (Yes Graham, I certainly haven't finished with my purchases from you yet!) LOL It's going to cost me hundreds of £££ (Ouch) but my mind is already set and I can be quite stubborn. Smile

I meant to ask you today Jon about these HD250's

Are they that much better than the 650's ?

Worth a punt?

@Nuance_Ember: I suggest you use the for sale area of this site if you have one pair to sell. If it's more I wish you the best with your HD250 sideline but please take it onto e-bay, forum members can follow you there. I may do so myself.

@Stewboss: I've not heard them. Why not pm to ask Ash to loan you one of his pairs?

So it was you, then, that nabbed these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/sennheiser-HD-250-headphones-/171016991516?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item27d168331c

I had my eye on them as a spare pair in case anything happened to mine, but  I cancelled my intended snipe bid once the scale of the bidding frenzy earlier today became apparent.

I remember seeing a completed auction - within the last year or two - for a virtually BNIB pair of HD250IIs that had sold for £31. Someone certainly got a bargain on that occasion!

Although I paid nearly three times as much for mine (before then), I count myself lucky that I got them when I did.

It does seem rather a shame, though, that other people who have yet to experience these phones will now find themselves competing against someone determined to buy up every available example that appears on the market, thus denying anyone else the chance of acquiring a pair at a reasonable price. But that's supply and demand, I suppose. Don't get me wrong - these cans are worth the money - it's just the innate bargain hunter in me that feels slightly aggrieved.

Good luck in your endeavour. As investment choices go in the current economic climate you could do a lot worse, and it could prove to be a very sound one.

Hahahaha LOL Embarrassed I've just been busted... >_<

Btw, I'm not going to buy EVERY single one. The main reason that I'm buying several is so that I can combine all the best condition parts onto one or two models then sell the rest. The Sennheiser Spares website doesn't provide certain parts so I have to buy a whole unit to mix 'n' match. I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Embarrassed If I was able to buy them brand new to start with, I would have only bought one and one spare and not bothered with this hassle.

I guess I haven't really noticed it until now but I can be quite calculating, but not in a malicious way. Once I've got the cosmetics of 2-3 Linears exactly how I want them, I won't bid for them anymore. The sales that I'm referring to are for selling my excess stock, not for abusing the misfortune of others permanently. I could but it's not fair, as you say.

I'm not trying to be a greedy pig with them or rip anyone off by selling them at ridiculous prices. I guess it's just my excess enthusiasm getting me into trouble again... Embarrassed LOL The way I was looking at it was that: 1. I'd get the chance to mix 'n' match some cosmetic parts to make my units look brand new, and 2. I might make a small profit selling on the headphones that I don't need, to people who are not as fussy about the cosmetics as I am. I guess it now just looks like I'm a man with personal issues. LOL Some people are going to hate me. Tongue
