It's a funny old world Smile

My last post was in regard to a Thorens turntable and fitting a Rega arm. Amazing how things change so quickly, let me explain.

A neighbour passed away a couple of months ago. He had a Leak Toughline tuner which he was prepared to sell to me. We had discussed it for 6 months on my daily dog walks, although I had never seen it!.

Anyway, I saw his widow on Sunday and she informed she is to sell her house and move away. I mentioned the tuner and she invited me in to see his 'hi-fi' equipment.

Lo and behold it has an SME 3009 arm ( which will fit straight on to my Thorens ). It is a not the improved arm by the looks of it as it has the split weight at the rear.!!! BUT there is also a Goldring G99 turntable, a LEAK Stereo 30 amplifier and an AKAI reel to reel ( Custom Deck X-150D ), and Leak sandwich speakers.

The equipment is built in to a unit so there are no cases for the deck and tuner.

Any of these pieces of equipment any good? What is the value?

Best wishes,

Adrian.

Don't know but if any bits surplus to requirements like speakers and turntable (I can find an arm), I would be willing to take them in. Wink

There are 4 Leak sandwich speakers!!

2 I've seen appear to be in nice condition, but cannot hear them ( cables missing etc ). Other 2 are sealed in plastic bags in garage!

Do you know of their value Graham?

Graham, I'm interested in the SME arm, G99, and Leak tuner and amp.

If you are interested in the sandwiches, perhaps it would be best for you to pop over and haggle yourself Wink
