Thinking of buying an external dac to replace the Asus sound card I'm using. Would anyone share his view, opinion, experience...etc, about this product or this brand?  Any better choice (must be of lower price than this) ? Tongue

Thx a lot for any help and information! Smile

Haven't heard the Ayre but I can recommend the Lavry DA11. It's cheaper, and seems to do well in comparisons on the net.

It has pro-audio roots and a transparent, neutral sound, nothing added and nothing taken away, no grain or glare. Quite "analogue" in fact. For headphone listening, I found that the DA11 + Solo UL worked extremely well together.

Thanks a lot, I'll start searching for its information on the net, I like analogue sounding stuffs too, that's why I voted for the Solo UL at the beginning.

I heartedly agree with you. Brilliant combination However, you need a good asynch USB to SPDIF converter
to reach this ultimately analogue and smooth sound.

The latest version of the Ayre is supposed to have async USB.
