Well, it's that time again!

We just reported our usual 0.25 tonnes of "waste" to the UK WEEE compliance scheme we have to be members in.

This is done quarterly so our total for the year is going to be about 1 tonne.

When I say waste I mean this is the weight of the products we make that will one day become discarded waste. Designed to last 20 or 30 years, that's a long way into the future. And more than half a tonne of that will be immediately recyclable with minimal work input to reclaim it.

The cost in processing this "waste" is £10 a tonne.

Bargain eh?

NO! We also have to pay £2,000 membership fees plus nearly £300 agency (the UK Government) fees.

So the cost to us is over £2,300 a tonne! Every year! Yes, just for 1 tonne. That is the most extortionate recycling cost on the planet! Unless that is you manufacture cartridges when it's more like £23,000 a tonne...

Now say if we were a mobile phone manufacturer? They'll probably have to pay a bit more in membership fees and agency fees, but they'll move hundreds of tonnes of "waste" which will generate far more real waste comparative to us.

But divide their cost per tonne down and it will be much nearer £10 per tonne than our £2,300!!!!!!!!!

This is the way the EU and it's 20 odd Governments go about thanking those who prop them up through the tax system, providing jobs also so that they can grab hold of more tax through PAYE.

And for what?

More £10,000 John Lewis kitchens?

It is a bare faced rip off!

The rich sponging off the poor!

Anyway, I'll let you research who is the Chairman of Valpak - our particular compliance scheme.

I will give you a clue: he's a member of Parliament Wink

You forgot to mention the full £24,000.00 for the second home which they give to their offspring and then rent back Angry

And what about all their other expenses, you know...the ones they get for attending their places of employment, cheap canteen, cheap booze, first class rail travel etc..........

Not forgetting ...they get 57.7 pence per mile travel allowance when the rest of us get 40p !!!

Oh, and then there is David Davis costing us an arm and leg locally to contest a safe seat.

Gosh ! then there are the mandarins giving themselves £128 million in bonuses for a job well done. You're having a laugh!!!

MPs vote themselves a small ! wage increase, but keep their huge expenses and refuse to be open about them, BUT increase their rent allowances for local office accommodation.

Give me a break. Anyone else doing this would be sent down for fraud !

Why on earth do we call them " Honourable " ??????
