Michael, Don't do that.

The correct positioning would be quite close to the supply but as it effectively shorts high frequency content it could have the effect of shorting or overloading the supply. We have yet to measure such effects.

The passive "card input filters" used on the Novo and other products are designed to strip off any residual HF garbage without stressing the supply.

It may also have a negative effect in that it changes a Kelvin current source from one that "does" (having voltage therefore current flows) to one that "doesn't" (having a short due to transformer action = no voltage and therefore no current flows at that source for that frequency).

Quite technical I know, but it's these finer points of understanding which separates us from the others.

I wouldn't have thought gold plated end caps would make much difference, and as they're consumables it would be better to have gold plated fuse clips. You only need one item of a mated pair to be gold plated to effect a non-volatile contact... neither can corrode unlike other dissimilar metal contacts.

Quite expensive using those fuses especially if a piece of equipment goes faulty - but good for the seller!

By the way, gold plating is cheap and shouldn't cost very much more than a standard plated item.
