My interest in blind testing was spurred on by:
Which includes: "3 - Do all amplifiers sound the same? Original Stereo Review blind test. Apologies for mis-remembering the source - it was actually "Stereo Review" (now "Sound and Vision". ) The link doesn't work, this does: http://webpages.charter.net/fryguy/Amp_Sound.pdf Edited by mal4mac - 11 Sep 2011 at 2:57pm |

Never mind, mal4mac, who published it. It only goes to show the listeners hadn't a clue what to listen for, or were confused by the equivalent of a Quadraphenia (1970's Sheffield HiFi shop) speaker-wall and an impatient salesman clicking away at the buttons.
I am sympathetic towards you and all those who find HiFi confusing/contradictory/pathetic (delete or add as necessary including expletives). I don't consider myself as being in HiFi but in high fidelity... there is a difference... As I may have previously said: I'd invite you all round here for a proper education but unfortunately we don't have the room - we'd have to do it one at a time and probably go bust in the process as we'd not have enough time left after 2 years of demos to make things. I could explain in the written word but I find I'm unable to "spin" the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth into a catchy one liner which people with ADD/ADHD (attention deficit disorder) require. Therefore it would seem we are doomed to failure... |
