You mean here: http://www.tnt-audio.com/edcorner/geoff_20years_e.html
The suggestion of a beer money phono amp was discussed with me by a director of a place where I was working freelance. It never came about because the other director was very abrasive, so much so that I quit. Having little else to do in 1998/9 I spent one of my weekly start up grants (£60 - meant as subsistence for the household) on various parts and had a go at designing the "suggestion". It sounded good to me and Diane so I set about making a few and set-up a website to try and sell them. The first one sold to a man in Portugal. It wasn't until it got reviewed in Gramophone, then TNT Audio, then What Hi-Fi that it became known and started to properly sell. |
