The PSU1 is a 24 VDC and the V-DAC needs 12 VDC. So the answer is no.

i was referring to the psu-1 as an example. what i am trying to find out is whether a linear type psu may have a benefit for the v-dac. 12v linear psu's are available from rs components.
i have read about the mf "v-psu", soon to be released (but likely to be expensive), and that got me thinking!
cheers

tg is correct, plus the new unit may not be as expensive as you think. ;)

i read somewhere that it is likely to be $199. that seems a lot, unless of course, the SQ improves greatly!
