Hi.
This is my first post on this excellent forum. I have an issue with the lid of the deck. It’s not the usual lid release catch problem (yeah, which is has on the left side!) but it’s with the lid itself. When I open the lid, it does not stay in the vertical position, but it drops to around 30 degrees making it difficult to place an LP on the turntable. Does anyone know if the hinge tension can be adjusted? There’s nothing mentioned in the SM. If not, does anyone know how the hinge is dismantled? Thanks very much in advance…

I shall have a look at mine tomorrow and report back if I can suggest a solution to help you.

I think the spring(s) is tucked away in the back section. Mine is not that forceful so drops back a bit from vertical but generally I'm just swapping LP's and it stays open enough.

Thanks Jon. Having looked again at the SM, the part of the lid containing the tonearm, it’s motor and drive rope assembly, which is referred to as the cabinet, has to be removed form the main unit and then one can access the lid springs.
