I have just received a pair of Proprius amps, one Reflex M and and Elevator EXP plus the requisite cables. The instructions say these will improve with sound over a period of burning in and might sound "slightly brittle and thin". I have to say Graham, straight out of the box they sound fabulous. I am astounded just how good this gear sounds, it is running rings round my present system which is no slouch (Pathos Logos amp and EAR phono stage) but this system has left it for dead. I've recently been auditioning a Lavardin IT amp, it's French and it costs five grand, I was seriously think about buying one, not any more! The little pair of Proprius' easily equal it at a fraction of the cost, there is no way the Lavardin is 4 times better than this system, NO WAY.

I alternate between two pairs of speakers: my large floor standing Amphion Xenons (made in Finland and are very good) and my 30 year old Rogers LS3/5a's which I love. For the first time my Ls3/5a's have come to life and are truly "singing" and also have nice tight, controlled punchy bass, the same goes for my Amphion's.

I normally use an SME 10/SeriesIV arm, plus a Lyra Argo MC cartridge, as my main source which sounds fab. The Reflex M knocks spots of my EAR and it isn't burnt in yet, I can sense this is only going to get better. I also have an Ayre CD player, which happens to have balanced inputs so of course I plugged straight into the amps. Wow! again, for the first time ever this machine has come to life, it finally has a bottom end that is also controlled and tight! I might just start listening to more CD's now.

What I like about Graham is the way he cuts through the bullsh*t of HiFi and audiophillia, which we all know is full of it. I've been in the radio and music business for nearly thirty years so have spent a lot of time sitting in studios listening to high end gear. In my humble opinion (for what it's worth) when it comes to value for money and sound quality (which means musicality to me) Graham Slee is off the scale.

I look forward to the pre-amp so I don't need to keep over plugging stuff. I know it will be awesome (no pressure Graham!).
