Hello Lucabeer
I would say not. I really dislike overly boosted bass. My preference has always been flat response (studio), open back headphones, but I broke my own rules because I was so intrigued by the reviews of the Meze 99 Classics. I've never been disappointed in them, in fact they've become the ones I use by far the most. The response is definitely not flat; there is some tweaking to the bass, but I hear it as quite subtle, natural and musical. Others may describe it differently. Some of the professional reviewers really liked the bass, others not so much. I would say that the closed back, walnut earpieces don't seem to narrow the sound as I would usually expect. One of the reviews that persuaded me to buy the Mezes without hearing them was this video by John Darko. I generally agree with his opinions on hifi products: Definitely worth trying. And they are, of course, beautiful to look at. I'm now curious about the 109 Pros... Dave
