I looked at the article. Zero mention of trying to flatten an edge-warped record which are the most difficult types to flatten without damage or altering the grooves. If it is like any other flattening machine it cannot do that very well.

Some of the other claims it makes about "relaxing" records fall into dubious territory.
SL-1200 MK7 (modified) + Reflex M + PSU-1 used with AT150-40ML, AT VM610 MONO, AT VM95ML, Stanton 680mkII + Ogura, and Shure M35X cartridges.
