Thanks Graham.

When I order the Enigma, I will ask for a barrel power cable so I can swap it onto my stock PSU1 for use with things like a Solo. A potential buyer will likely be seeking a power supply upgrade for a headphone amp.

This was most notable with Pink Floyd's "Division Bell". I'd just completed a video of a few tracks from this when the Enigma arrived so I re-ripped the audio and compared the waveforms. Sure enough, with exactly the same level into the ADC, the loud peaks were obviously louder visually, and sonically this translated into not only a more exciting sound but one where the inner detail within those peaks was more noticeable, more tangible.

The Enigma PSU1 has been designed to give more efficiency in how the “micro-currents” flow to and from the power source at all frequencies concerned. It is not the “power consumed efficiency” this is improving, this is focussed on the “micro-currents” being “free-ed” to flow the best they can to and from the power source.

The details in audio signals are at all voltage levels in a dynamic range of over 100dB...

at MC levels of 0.2mv (0.0002v) @1kHz,

that includes a range of 100nv (0.0000001v) to 10.0mv (0.010v).

Note: Gain required in RIAA with 0.2mv @ 1.0kHz reference,

10.0mv = 0.2mv + 20dB @20Hz plus 14dB headroom @20Hz

20dB is x10 and 14dB is x5

20dB + 14dB = 10 x 5 = x50

so, (0.2mv @1kHz ref.) x (50 gain @ 20Hz) = 10.0mv

Now, 100dB is x100,000 or x1/100,000...

10.0mv / 100,000 = .0001mv = 0.0000001v.

0.0000001v = 100nanovolts = 0.1microvolts

Any signal < 10.0microvolts is in the noise voltage level range and is very tricky to maintain signal integrity without outside interference. So, the more efficient the power is supplied to support the micro-signals' current paths, the clearer the musical details will be apparent to the end listener.

 All of Graham's parts' selections have been selected for this purpose.
