Evening all,
I want to integrate a sub into my system. I use a Majestic as a preamp with Lautus balanced cables out to Proprius amps mounted on my speakers.

I could use the high level speaker output from the Proprius to drive the sub but this drapes cables all over the place and looks a bit crap.

Was wondering if I can split the balance cable? I’ve seen some splitter cables TRS to two female TRS allowing for two pairs of balanced lines to come out of the back of the Majestic.

I then have to find cables for TRS to RCA to input to the sub. Anybody tried this or maybe biamping from the Majestic?

I don’t want to degrade the signal to the Proprii or damage anything.

I had my Majestic modified by John C to make the phono output variable in the same manner as the balanced out. This is an option when purchasing a Majestic.  It means I can take the balanced output to the Proprius feeding the main speakers and use the phono output for powered subwoofers. I actually have a Minidsp between the Majestic and subs to give control over room effects but that is entirely optional.
Not sure if this answers your question but it might give an alternative to working with split cables.

Yes considered this, wish I’d ordered a variable one in the first place. Wonder if John would consider doing this mod for me? I did make an enquiry some time ago but never heard anything back.

I’ve been looking at the miniDSP devices too. Dirac seems an interesting idea as well.
