How much are you willing to spend, and where are you located.

Thanks, it saved me from having to google it!
BTW, I asked for location because I usually recommend people buy items that are supported by a local dealer network. This to avoid having to ship overseas yourself, leave that part of the warranty repair to the local dealer. I have owned cd-players by Arcam, Meridian, and NAD which all were very nice sounding units. If you can get an used Meridian 508.24 for that kind of money I would go that route. Good luck. |

It's only my opinion but Richer Sounds are selling off their remaining Cambridge Audio 840C's for £499, I have one and think it is very good for £500. It took about a week to burn-in on home loan. The Audiolab 8200 CD is £700 and very well reviewed, notably winning in a WHFSV group-test. I decided to buy the 840C and spent half of the £200 on parts (ZLG caps, replacement regulator for DAC supply and a roll of anti-vibe).
But I suggest taking your CD's, Solo and HD60's for the demos, let your ears decide.
Best wishes for years of happy listening
Jon

The CA 840C is a very nice sounding unit and at 500 pounds new I would be running to get one.
