Hi guys

Looking at maybe replacing the stock cable for My LCD-2's with something else, I was looking at toxic-cables, hand shakily hovering in the vicinity of my debit card, when I spotted the Deze on the website... or rather the "watch this space" bit on the website.

So.... I have have been watching. Wink

Had a brief email exchange with John C & he said the Deze is available & there may be one in the loan programme. A quick search here didn't turn up much, other than Morris Minor said he liked a protototype he was using.

So... anyone own one?
what's it look like?
what's it made from?
what's it cost?
oh yeah  ....is it any good? *dives for cover* LOL
Is there one in the loan scheme & do you send stuff to relative noobs to the forum? (you can trust me... i come from Sarf Lundun).

There! a whole load of questions. Any  info gratefully received.

Cheers

Dave

I'm supposed to know, but John makes the cables and also does the shipping, so he should know if the loaner programs have them - but you already asked him... Embarrassed

Best to send a PM to Fatmangolf (Jon Berg, our UK loaner co-ordinator).

A PM is that envelope thing above saying 0 New Messages.

Oh, and give him a few days to reply.

When John gives me a Deze (pronounced dyssey I believe.... Wacko) I will photograph it and do a page.

And remember, we're all noobs at something.
That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

I have heard the Deze (pron. "dee-zee" I expect) with my LCD-2's and was really impressed. If John and Graham send me one I will loan it to you and anyone else interested in a UK loan. Please PM me Dave if I can help.

If the Deze is the same cable that I have from Graham I can tell you a bit about it.I have Solo UDLE and the Audeze LCD .
Over the stock Audeze cable it has a better presentation of voices hands down. The voices are fuller and more realistic it adds quality to the backing singers too! The top end has less sibilance yet retains excellent high frequencies for cymbals etc.The bass is excellent too.
Its a neat trick, occasionally I go back to the Audeze cable but I soon switch straight back to the Slee version as the Audeze cable sounds slight thin on voices although it can sound slightly crisper in the upper frequencies on a few tracks.Smile

John C has just made me a customised 3 metre Deze for my Hifiman Arya planar magnetic open back headphones. I needed 3.5mm dual connectors at the headphone end, so be nice to John and I'm pretty confident he can customise the connectors to your specification.. The workmanship is first class. Construction is impeccable. The sheathing is gorgeous. Its reassuringly heavy and flat. No tangling possible! But bear in mind this also means its not that flexible. I have been using a well regarded, price equivalent Cardas cable. Well let me tell ya right off the bat: the Deze destroys that cable! In summary -

-generally, much more natural sounding
- non fatiguing, neutral sound signature
- stress free at higher volumes, headroom!
- superior transparency
- cleaner, lower noise floor
- better, deeper linear bass, with control and zero booming
- more micro and macro detail
- wider, deeper, more layered 3D soundstage. The stage is pushed back several rows
- superior seperation and space between instruments
- pinpoint stereo imaging
- detailed but smooth high frequencies
- superior midrange clarity and spaciousness

To be honest, I hadn't expected much of an improvement from the Cardas, I had actually only wanted a longer cable run. The Deze shocked me. Literally. Its transformational in my system. I have used several pricier brands over the years, including Toxic Cables, Cardas and Arctic Cables. The Deze shames them all.

I'm glad the Deze cable is working wonders with your headphones. That is a very insightful review, you've done it justice. I think my Deze is remarkable sounding with exceptional build quality.

Hey Jon!

Cheers me ole mucka. I'm one of those who firmly believe in cables as a fundamental part of system infastructure. And John's Lautus cables are connected throughout my entire systems - they are that good and far superior to those hyped up much pricier cable companies. Its just TOTL engineering at work here. As the spiel says, no fancy gimmicks to change the origina signal.  Just someone who knows their stuff and craft, and how then to construct it. The Deze shows off the scalability of good phones. You thought you had reached the sound quality ceiling of your phones? Connect up a Deze, and just hear what happens.  You will get a fresh hi- fidelity insight into just how good they can sound.  And thats what I crave - a clean window into the source. And the Deze is...ermmm...quite "dezeing" in that respect (okies, I get me coat!).
