"Your loss is our gain
We're all on the take" (Pet Shop Boys, "Actually", "Shopping") Such an aethiest religion of the wicked west - do we have to take after our nations? In World War I on Dec 25th German and British soldiers took a break from taking lives and had a game of football instead. But it wasn't long before they were back to taking... each others lives! We live in a 364:1 take:give ratio world... and who sang "what a wonderful world"? Wonderful for those on the take! From childhood we are taught to be on the take and they call it the season for giving... season? You must be joking! It's just one day! No, this is a 364 day a year take - take system! I stopped doing that aethiest (blood thirsty) "2 week" holiday they blame God for! Instead, I encourage members of this owners forum to give on every day but the 25th December! You don't have to do what your "Princes" do! |

I concur. I have the misfortune (self dictated admittedly) of working for a retailer.. its not even the last 2 weeks of the year any more.. becoming the last 4 months of the year.. i could almost have a full "christmas" now and noone would know the difference.. except that they would know that it wasnt really the day christ was born..oh wait. neither is the 25th of December.. can anyone remember the pagan history behind christmas? Im sure I remember hearing where christmas took its roots from however my memory fails me.
i give every day. If the gift of fags and helping old ladies counts... not sure it does somehow, a lot of the elderly these days seem less connected to God and more in cahoots with the other guy. |

probably to keep warm in the winter.... ![]() The next big ancient festival was the solstice feast of Mithras, the Roman God of light on December 25. This was the one adopted by Christians sometime around the 4th century as the birthday of Jesus. ...'cos they were too illiterate to read what the bible says ![]() but didn't he say "take heed no man deceive you, for many shall come in my name"? Romans eh? but what I don't understand is why do atheists, who don't believe in anything pagan or christian or muslim or jewish or buddhist etc, do christmas? as my Dad used to say "why don't they take the time off when the weather's better?" must be because they are religious atheists ![]() |

peer pressure... there are plenty muslims etc who are happy to work 25th December but the so called atheists make a bit noise about it. why? because its tradition.. shame its not traditional to not skive off and not call in sick when you're hung over.
p.s. Isn't QI great? If only i could remember all the glorious things they teach us.. Frankie Boyle left mock the week! It will never be the same again. except if its a repeat. Edited by ramsay - 05 Oct 2009 at 10:50am |
