Hi, has anyone tried using a non rechargeable lithium battery, such as sold for smoke alarms, in the Voyager?

Do you think that there would be a huge increase in battery life though? One thing I don't like about standard batteries, having used them in a walkman, (remember them?!) is that there seemed to be a degradation in sound before the end of the batteries useful life. Is that the case with the Voyager?

In the 10+ months since I acquired a Voyager, I have changed the (Duracell) battery only once, though I only run on battery perhaps a few times a week for a an hour or so at a time.
I can't remember exactly how the 1st battery ran out (it was last year) but if there was any sound degradation it was only minutes before the battery went dead. Anytime I'm not outdoors, I'll use USB charger or PSU. With the right cans, its great sounding amp... did I mention modded HD25 yet? ;-) |

These are HD 25-specific mods... pretty basic. - Swap the steel cable for something copper (typically HD650 stock) - swap pleather for velour pads (eases bass) - swap split headband for HD25SP band You get a little less detail and smaller soundstage than, say, HD650, but they have a lot more punch, are more lively and are much more forgiving of poor recording/mastering. Even with velour, the isolation is still up with the best of mid-range closed back/studio cans and they're robust enough to chuck in the bag and take anywhere  Edited by jamescodway - 17 Apr 2009 at 8:38pm |
