The price of the Sennheiser HD650 headphones seems to be coming down and overall, get great reviews so I'm think of buying pair for use at home. I like the convenience of being able to wonder around while I listen so I use my iPod connected to my Voyager. Do you think this is a match made in heaven - The HD650's being driven by the Voyager?
I'd welcome your views, particularly from anyone who has tried or uses this combinatio9n of equipment. Many thanks

I'll second Stuart's advice.
HD650s tend to divide opinion, I owned a set & didn't get on with them at all - found the bass to be muddy & overblown. They lacked clarity & definition as well I thought. You might like them though - many people do. |

I tried both the HD650 and the HD600 and I found that across a range of musical tastes, the HD600's were more 'musical' and more balanced over longer listening periods, especially when used with the Bitzie and Lautus cable. Sorry that I do not have any experience with the Voyager though. Hopefully someone else on the Forum does.
Enjoy! ![]() |

Thanks Gents. All useful stuff to add to the mix; but would still welcome to hear from anyone who has used the 650's with the Voyager or for that matter any headphone recommendations that work well with the Voyager. Budget up £350ish

I would recommend the Voyager but I wouldn't recommend the HD650. The HD650 is not good enough for the Voyager IMHO. I really liked the Etymotic ER-4S IEMs with the Voyager with the bass contour switch on.

If you find that the HD540s better than the HD650s than I think I would have dodged a bullet because I was seriously tempted getting a pair myself. ![]() |
