This poll is also open to Guests (we don't usually do this)

Something's been bugging me - do people really prefer tapping touch-screens?

OK, I know that on a phone or a tablet device it's the only way, but what would you prefer on a preamp or integrated amp - a touch-screen or some switches?

Before you answer, let's pretend that all the power-hungry computational processing touch-screens demand have absolutely zilch effect on audio quality...

Also, to make the answers more interesting, could you ask friends and family to vote?

Thank you for participating.

Best regards,

Graham

There's a third option which goes with the Touch screen - a remote control duplicating the touch controls . . . All things being assumed equal (Ermm), this would be my preference.

BTW Graham - sorry if I started you off down this path. I was only thinking about what makes audio kit "domestically acceptable" to the Homes&Gardens interiors brigade.

The big balancing act will be development & production costs v. sound quality v. alienation of your existing customer base as the bells and whistles will cost and not improve sound quality.

Remote control is 'easy' Bob.

Remote control is nice, but proper switches and volume control please. Touch screen is for 'here today, gone tomorrow' toys.

I prefer hardwired stuff. No chances of f**king it up with software/firmware. Easy to fix if it breaks. But I admit that I would like a motorized remote-controlled Alps volume knob on my Solo.
