Paul, ask Jon (aka Fatmangolf) for a loan. They're on sale now. See prices tab here: http://www.gspaudio.co.uk/lautus-audio-interconnect.htm (copy and paste into browser)

Also please ask the loaner program organisers Fatmangolf, Suggs, phibes and mrarroyo for their impressions of the difference.

It''s supposed to be improved clarity - the improvements to the sound stage and bass are most easily noticed, but best to ask them to find if it's universal.

Graham,
Having a 2 metre Cusat working too good really to warrant me upgrading to the new Lautus, I'm just curious if some trick with a knot tied somewhere along it might improve it some still? Since I think I've read somewhere you saying this kind of trick can inhibit radio interference to some extent (which is what the Lautus does isn't it?) I thought I'd ask.  Thanks!

Don't think the knot would work. It was used by our old managing director who was also the station engineer for the entire group (also a department of industry pirate radio "sniffer"). He used it for special events radio to tweak transmitters for the required signal strength or to tweak them onto frequency, or get the right power transfer into the transmission aerial. The knot represented an inductor but an "air core" one, where to grossly attenuate carrier waves really needs ferrite cores. May be worth trying but I am not at liberty to say the position it would be placed at (as such information would only help the others...)

Not even in a PM then, if I swear never to use it in competition with GSP? Wink

Question for Graham and the production team...

I have some Lautus cables in my system that are too long for my needs (I misjudged). I would like to shorten some/all of them. If I were to post these cables to you and give you the lengths I would like them shortened to, are you able to do this for me and for a subsidised cost (because of the wire material you will gain, as the cables are still like brand-new)??

I have:

Lautus Phono-Phono dual mono 3m (change both to 1.2m)

Lautus Phono-XLR dual mono 3m (change both to 1.5m)

Spatia dual mono 2m (These would be cut into small sections of several cm bare cable for me to re-cable my LS3/5A with)

Perhaps some forum member would be happy to swap one or two of them otherwise, if you'd be willing? Not me, but perhaps there's someone in need of a longer interconnect.
