Yes - The Human League's Dare album, on a 45rpm Picture Disc, played a couple of times only.

What's the catch? Well I now have two copies, and both suffer from quite high levels of "groove roar". Listening on speakers is not too much of a problem as the music programme masks the noise except between tracks of course. The exception is the quiet start of side 2 . . .

All of this is a great pity as the audio is great. The record store didn't want the first copy back, so if anyone wants it please let me know. All I want is the cost of postage - say £3 . . . .

Oh - almost forgot - it'll come with an unused mp3 download code . . . Wink

Isn't that "Get Carter" - I may need to dig my old copy out to check?

Many thanks to Bob for his generosity.

Dare is on the GOrbe at the moment.

Have to agree on the groove roar, worst I have come across on a new pressing.

I have just played the intro of Side one, twice, once at the expected 33rpm, and again at 45rpm.

Why they have mastered an album at 45rpm, and then have to pack the grooves tighter and shallower, rather than wider and deeper I just find unfathomable.

Anyways, I'm too busy reminiscing about my teens to care much!!

Thanks again Bob.

TTFN

OK, that's set me into an Eighties mood, and promptly followed it with Side G of Welcome to the Pleasuredome.

Struggling to keep the volume down!

Cheers
