Hi all,

Nearing the end of archiving vinyls project, I have a bunch of vinyls that are warped or slightly bent. The Presentation cart is unforgiving and does not like to surf choppy waves. I have tried keeping them under/between heavy books for months and the results have been not so great.

Has anyone had great success with fixing vinyl warps (not the horrible ones) without impacting the grooves and playback?

Cheers
Shashi

What about outer ring clamp? I contemplated about Techneaudio Outer Ring, but my TT is not compatible unfortunately.
Another solutions from Clearaudio or VPI are only for their products...

Thanks Chris and Michal. Of the both option the Michell clamp looks promising. Hopefully it will fit my P******t Extension 12 turntable.

The outer ring clamp option unfortunately is more tuned to specific TTs. I did check the VPI ring too but no luck.

Meanwhile I found this product recommended ina few audio forums - uses heat and clamp method:
www.vinylflat.com. I have placed the order for this and will also order the Michell clamp - will update on my experience.

Thanks much for the advice.

I have different clamp - Orsonic DS-200G. Only 200 g (good for bearing) and powerfully gripping the spindle. But do not overtighten (is it correct in ENG?). For some warping defects is usable only with caution or only on 1 side of LP.

The Michell clamp is under 70g, so should trouble TT suspension even less.

Michal - good point about the clamp handling one side only. I am having problems with the concave side. The convex side is flattened by current P******t clamp.

Chris - the P******t xTension is a beast and weight should not matter. I am pulling the trigger on the clamp. Have already ordered the VinylFlat system as another option.

More to follow soon as I hopefully find results.
