I am delighted with the Voyager.  I have had a Sennheiser HD 650 which I've always used with either my Yamaha Clavinova CLP170 or directly from a pc. Naturally the Sennheiser wont give of its best directly plugged in to either an iPod or a basic portable CD player but until now that's how I used it for the latter two.  But heavens, what a difference with the Voyager.  I could be in the concert hall.

I've also used it with my Roberts portable radio and FM stereo concerts come out just wonderfully!

You just gotta hear the difference!

Brian,

isn't it just fantastic when you get revelation like this... wonderful. Big%20smile

Hope you avoid upgraditis... even though there are further revelations to behold (Solo + HD250 for starters).

gbr2004uk good to hear you are enjoying the Voyater. A very nice sounding portable amp IMO. Enjoy it.

Thanks guys.  Hey, what's with Solo?  OK, only kidding, I'll check it out.  This from
http://tinyurl.com/nhcvrn  "They [Sennheiser HD 650] need a powerful headphone amp to sound their best like the Graham Slee Solo. They also benefit enormously from a cable upgrade like the Russ Andrews HC1. ..."

I tried +gently+ tugging at the cables where they enter the cans but was too frightened to really pull them in case something broke!   But seriously, why would Sennheiser produce this high end product and release it with inferior cables?  I read this somewhere else too, that you get even better quality with better Y-cables ...

The bank is broke for a few months but would you really advise a new cable?  Or is this upgraditis/upgradosis?

cheers
Brian

The Solo SRG and Novo address (to a degree) the cable problem with their secondary negative feedback loops. However, using an old broadcast audio technique I had forgotten about it could be possible to go further and I am currently working on ways of incorporating this into the Solo SRG. I will make further announcements when I am sure it is going to make a substantial difference.
